Junior Achievement of the Heartland to Host Annual JA Bowl-A-Thon to Benefit Student Financial Liter

Junior Achievement of the Heartland is excited to roll out its annual JA Bowl-A-Thon, taking place in February and March 2026 at bowling alleys throughout its 24-county region. This high-energy fundraising event brings together local businesses, community members, and supporters for a great cause — helping young people build essential life and career skills.

This year’s Bowl-A-Thon holds special significance, as JA of the Heartland celebrates its 70th anniversary of empowering students across eastern Iowa and western Illinois. For seven decades, JA has partnered with local schools and volunteers to help students build confidence and gain the real-world skills needed to thrive. The 70th anniversary year brings added excitement and renewed commitment to expanding JA’s impact.

A long-standing tradition in the community, the JA Bowl-A-Thon raises vital funds to support JA’s hands-on learning experiences in financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship. Participants can look forward to a fun day that brings together team building and meaningful community impact.

What to Expect

  • Teams of five will enjoy a fun atmosphere with music, prizes, and camaraderie.
  • Each team pays a $75 registration fee and commits to raising an additional $300 to support local JA programs.
  • Funds raised will help reach more than 57,000 students with transformative learning experiences that prepare them for success in the real world.

“The JA Bowl-A-Thon is more than just a fun day out—it’s a powerful way for the community to invest in the next generation,” said Lysa Hegland, President & CEO of Junior Achievement of the Heartland. “When we come together for a cause like this, we create real opportunities for young people to thrive.”
