HOW CORN DEVELOPED THE MID WEST

Learn “How Corn Changed Itself and then Changed Everything Else”.  Author Cynthia Clampitt, an Illinois Humanities Road Scholar speaker, will demonstrate this concept through the history of common agricultural crops and foods.  She weaves the stories of early America toward the development of the Mid West we know today. Trace how corn evolved from a wedy grass to the cash crop of the modern world.

Volunteer Millers of de Immigrant Windmill will host this presentation at 6:00pm Tuesday, July 22 at the Windmill Cultural Center located at 111- 10th Avenue Fulton.  The facility is fully accessible to persons with disabilities.  Light refreshments will be served following the program.
