2025 CCC Quiz Bowl Results

Easton Valley took home the 1st Place trophy, winners of the 2025 Clinton Community College Academic Quiz Bowl.  Started in 1985 as a question and answer, fact and trivia competition, Quiz Bowl is a fast-paced competition for area high school teams.  CCC, one of the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, hosts the event awarding the first and second place teams Paul B. Sharar Foundation scholarships for their school.

Teams from area high schools compete annually for the top award, answering questions in topics including math, history, science, language, literature, government, music, art, sports and current events.  Begun in 1985 as a question and answer/fact and trivia competition, it was established with two goals in mind: to provide a fun, informative and entertaining learning experience for area students, and to provide exposure for the superior scholastic abilities of our area’s high school students.

The Easton Valley High School team is led by Coach Jenny Knutsen and students Captain Tyson Tubbs, Lucas Kunde, Tyler Kunde, and Nizhonia Schmidt.

Each year, the college awards a trophy to the team from the winning school.  In addition, the Sharar Foundation awards a $1,200 scholarship to the winning high school and a $600 scholarship to the runner-up, to be used by graduates of those schools attending Clinton Community College.

Following Easton Valley High School was second place team Unity Christian High School, third place West Carroll High School and fourth place Bellevue High School.  Consolation round winner was Marquette Catholic High School, and runner up was Camanche High School.  Other participating teams include Calamus-Wheatland High School, Clinton High School, Fulton High School, Lighthouse School, and Prince of Peace High School.
