PLC ELECTRICIAN LEAD

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance/maintenance on all equipment
  • Installs, replaces, repairs, and maintains electrical systems throughout the plants, equipment, and machinery
  • Attend meetings as directed and take ownership of all tasks assigned
  • Lead and give instruction to team members
  • Plan day-to-day schedules for team members
  • Work with Maintenance team members to train / improve their skills
  • Work with Operations to determine the priorities of repairs to reduce downtime
  • Support Maintenance and Operations with troubleshooting of all key systems including PLC’s, Drives, HMI’s, control networks, power distribution, and general-purpose industrial controls
  • Experience with Ethernet communication, PID Loops, and electromechanical systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of various robots (primarily Fanuc). Excellent overall trouble shooting skills
  • Design/edit/modify PLC and HMI programs
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks per the PM software and/or as assigned
  • Create workorders within the PM Software
  • Assist Engineering in automation of plant equipment
  • Strong understanding of the NEC, NFPA, NESC and ISA standards
  • Maintain detailed project files and equipment documentation in an organized manner
  • Works from verbal instructions, sketches, diagrams, or blueprints to perform duties according to electrical building codes
  • Determine proper layout of water, air, and gas lines when installing/repairing equipment as it pertains to the electrical system
  • Perform daily system checks, including boiler, air compressors, chemical treatment, and water softening equipment as assigned
  • Set up and operate maintenance equipment to execute necessary repairs and revisions including new installations of electrical equipment such as motors, relays, control boxes, welding and powder coating equipment and plant lighting
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Able to look up parts and place requisitions to order parts
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs as needed to facilitate electrical repairs
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 
 
 Essential Functions:

  • Ability to use a tablet and or computer to track daily activities
 
Competencies:
  • Proficiency in writing PLC programs, including the capability to develop a minimum of one hundred lines of code
  • Completion of a minimum two-year technical degree in Electronics or equivalent practical experience of two years
  • 2 years of proven success as an Industrial Electrician
  • Must have a valid forklift certification
  • Must have a valid blueprint certification
  • Ability to follow directions accurately
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
 
Educational/Training Requirements:
Completion of a minimum two-year technical degree in Electronics or equivalent practical experience of two year
