Primary Responsibilities:
  • Installs, replaces, repairs, and maintains plant equipment and machinery.
  • Attend meetings as directed and take ownership of all tasks assigned
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks per the PM software and/or as assigned
  • Create workorders within the PM Software
  • Properly set up welders, presses, wire straighteners and other fabrication equipment
  • Ability to operate, set up and adjust robotic equipment, automats, and automated cells
  • Ability to maintain and repair our powder coating system and its components
  • Fabricate/build metal components
  • Set up and operate all maintenance equipment necessary to fabricate parts or to repair or construct machines
  • Operate band saws, drill presses, pipe threading equipment, and hand tools
  • Be able to weld using mig, tig, stick and brazing
  • Operate a plasma torch and an oxy/acetylene torch
  • Read, follow schematics/blueprints
  • Perform maintenance/repairs to the buildings and grounds
  • General carpentry work
  • Minor masonry and concrete work
  • General plumbing
  • Determine proper layout of water, air, and gas lines when installing/repairing equipment.
  • Perform daily system checks, including boiler, air compressors, chemical treatment, and water softening equipment as assigned
  • Set up and operate maintenance equipment to execute necessary repairs and revisions including new installations of sewer, water air, and miscellaneous liquid piping systems throughout the facility
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Perform minor electrical repairs (change proximity switches, fuses, motors, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
  • Be respectful and work cooperatively with peers
  • Work safely and champion co-workers to do the same.
  • Perform 5S daily and comply with the five 5S Rules to Live By.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Ability to use a tablet and or computer to track daily activities
Competencies:
  • 5+ years successful maintenance experience
  • Must successfully pass Maintenance Class 3 Test
    • Those grandfathered into this position will have reasonable time (approximately 6 months) to train to pass the Maintenance Class 3 Test
  • Must have a valid blueprint certification
  • Must have a valid forklift license
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to follow directions accurately
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
 
Educational/Training Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
 
Licensing Requirements:
Forklift License
 
Experience Requirements:
5+ years of successful maintenance experience

Authority for Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality
  • This position has the authority and responsibility to stop any process that poses a risk to the safety and health of personnel, causes significant impacts to the environment, or affects product quality with an impact on customers.
  • They must ensure that established procedures within the Integrated Management System are followed before resuming operations.
Environmental Management and Spill/Emission Control
  • They have the authority to stop processes if they detect fluid spills or abnormal emissions that may cause negative environmental impacts.
