Third Graders Meet Their Pen Pals at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation

Mrs. Megan Modglin’s third grade class from Morrison’s Northside school, brought smiles and warm hearts to Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison on Monday, May 19th, as they met their pen pals—residents of the facility—with whom they had been corresponding throughout the school year.
The visit marked the culmination of a meaningful intergenerational pen pal project that connected young students with senior residents through the art of letter writing. The students and residents finally met face-to-face, sharing stories, laughter, and heartfelt moments.

“The kids LOVE this project!” said Mrs. Modglin. “I’m so thankful Resthave residents are willing to correspond with them. The kids get great, real-world experience writing letters, and it’s wonderful for them to interact with people from a different generation.” The visit was a joyful experience for both the students and the residents, highlighting the power of connection, communication, and community.
