Sawyer, whose strength and kindness have earned him the title of 2026 Children’s Miracle Network National Champion, approaches each challenge with a warrior mindset. His sense of humor and positivity help carry his family through some of their toughest days. Thanks to generous donations, Children’s Miracle Network helps hospitals like the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital provide life-saving care, innovative treatments, and specialized equipment for kids who need it most. Sawyer’s journey is a powerful reminder that miracles are often local. His national recognition highlights the strength of our hometown families, the dedication of our healthcare partners, and the generosity of people who give so kids can keep fighting.
Recently, Sawyer and his mother, Jamie, were guests on the Grow Clinton Podcast. Sawyer was asked what subject he enjoyed the most, and he quickly responded, “My favorite subject is dismissal!” His humorous and relatable reply sparked an idea for a t-shirt.
The Sawyer Dawes t-shirt, a collaborative effort between The Dawes Family, Grow Clinton, Adcraft Printwear, and Children’s Miracle Network, is an initiative highlighting the power of community support while raising awareness for organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and families.
Available in both youth and adult sizes, the Sawyer Dawes t-shirts are priced at $25 each, with proceeds helping support Children's Miracle Network and its mission of providing critical funding for children's healthcare services, equipment, and programs that benefit local families.

Grow Clinton played a key role in fostering collaboration among community partners, while Adcraft USA provided expertise in the design and production of the shirts. Together with Children's Miracle Network, the organizations have created a product that represents community pride, generosity, and support for children in need.
"Thank you for supporting Children's Miracle Network. Every dollar raised goes directly to the Iowa City Children’s Hospital that helps so many kids like me get the care they need,” said Sawyer, “Seeing this shirt worn all around will remind kids like me that we are not fighting alone.”
