General Summary:                                                                                                                    
The Maintenance Helper (Seasonal) performs a variety of routine and unskilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the grounds and buildings of the community’s properties.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs assigned duties related to the grounds of the community’s properties around the administration building, The Canticle, and the pond, i.e., weeding, trimming bushes/trees, tending to the flowers, mulching, and raking leaves.
2. Assists with recycling materials.
3. Assists with vehicle maintenance.
4. Keeps east and west garages clean.
5. Maintains shop, equipment, and work area in a clean and safe manner.
6. Ensures an atmosphere of respect and support for each resident and other employees.
7. Completes other assignments within the scope of this position as requested by the Building and Grounds Manager.

1. Knowledge of how to care for plants, shrubs, and trees preferred.
2. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
3. Ability to work alone and/or with others.
4. Ability to drive a pickup truck, tractor, and mower; have a valid driver's license as required.
5. Ability to walk, stand, maintain balance, climb ladders, crouch, lift to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach.
6. Ability to withstand inside and outside environmental conditions.
7. Ability to operate a variety of tools and power equipment.

1. Working conditions may at times include extreme heat and extreme cold and physical hazards.
2. Work may be noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy.
3. Work can be physically strenuous.
4. Occasional use of hazardous tools and machines.
