A member of the McCarthy-Bush family of companies, Clinton Engineering (CEC) is a full-service general contractor and recognized leader in construction for the Clinton Community and surrounding areas since 1926. Specializing in design-build, new construction, rehabilitation and renovation of commercial, industrial and municipal projects, CEC boasts a local, experienced workforce who self-perform in variety of trades from carpentry work to concrete paving, steel fabrication & erection, to excavation and more.

CEC is currently seeking a Site Layout Technician based in Clinton, Iowa.  This position will primarily work at LyondellBasell in Clinton, IA, but may travel occasionally to job sites within a 2-hour radius. 

Our Site Layout Technician will serve as an integral part of our CEC team to ensure precision in construction layouts by using the GPS-based layout tool Sitech (Trimble) Total Station.  This person will play a key role in quality control, adhering to design specifications, and supporting our Superintendents in project execution.  This position requires a high degree of accuracy, trouble shooting, and critical thinking.  

What makes you successful in this position?

• Experience using Sitech (Trimble) Total Station surveying tool is required; experience as inspector or tester a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying or Geomatics preferred but not required
• You are proficient in CAD, Microsoft Office; Trimble Access software experience a plus!
• You appreciate details and are able to read and interpret 3D design plans, specifications, and drawings
• Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team
• Superior time management and technical capacity skills
• You find reward in providing high-quality solutions and working with safety in mind
• Candidates must possess a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

This position is based in Clinton, IA and will require some occasional job site travel within a 2-hour radius.
