Celebrate Día de Muertos with the library and the Franciscan Peace Center. Widely observed in Mexico, Día de Muertos involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died. To celebrate and learn about remembrance customs from another culture we are asking attendees to bring photos of loved ones to add to our ofrenda and are encouraging kids, teens, and adults to dress up as a person (family, friend, famous) whom you admire, who is no longer with us. We’ll wrap up the celebration with an outdoor showing of Disney Pixar’s movie Coco. We’ll be celebrating outside at 105 Main Ave, Four Square Park on Friday, November 1, starting at 5:00 p.m., showing that movie at dark around 6:00 p.m. Make sure to bring chairs and blankets for the movie viewing.
