The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center -- Clinton, Iowa’s Children’s Museum, will hold two fundraisers this month, a trivia night competition, and an online silent auction, to raise money for a new exhibit coming to the museum in 2026.
Trivia Night at the Museum -- Grown-ups Only, will be this Friday, November 14, at the Discovery Center, 332 - 8th Avenue South, Clinton. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and trivia play begins at 6:30 p.m. Teams of six to eight people are suggested, and cost is $10 per person, payable at the door. Preregistering is not required, but a quick call to the Discovery Center to indicate participation is appreciated. Participants should be 21 years or older.
During the trivia evening, participants can enjoy: a dessert auction with choice of delicious creations donated by area businesses and individuals; snacks for sale such as fresh popcorn, snack mix, and chips; a bring-your-own-beverage event with bottled water for sale; the live auction of Iowa Hawkeye Men’s Basketball tickets and parking pass; and time to have fun exploring the children’s museum including playing mini putt golf and getting some team-spirit facepaint or handpaint to prepare for the competition.
The trivia game will be emceed by Chris Busker, of Busker Entertainment. Ten rounds will bring a wide array of knowledge categories including a glimpse into the history of Felix Adler and the American circus.

Friday, November 14, is also the first day of the Discovery Center’s Online Silent Auction, which will run through November 24. More than 60 baskets containing hundreds of items will be on display at the Discovery Center, and all bidding will take place online at www.32auctions.com/DiscoveryCenter2025 .
Hundreds of generous businesses and individuals have donated a large variety of gift certificates and opportunities that will excite both the personal shopper or the person looking for holiday gift-giving ideas. Items include: family resort get-aways, delicious restaurants, golf packages near and far, casino adventures, luxurious spa and massage moments, sports tickets, arts & cultural events, toys, collectables, movies theatre passes, museums and zoos around the Midwest, shopping at local businesses, holiday baskets, friendly cheer baskets, and much more.
Proceeds from the Discovery Center’s fundraisers will go to support a new Public Safety Exhibit coming to the children’s museum in 2026. The exhibit will expand upon the Discovery Center’s belove ambulance and will include law enforcement, and additional family health and fire safety. The interactive hands-on area will be built to delight children and families, and it will feature the people and organizations in our community who work to keep us safe.
The exhibit is in the planning stages and includes the input and expertise of many area organizations including Clinton County Sheriff, Clinton County Communications, Citizens Police Academy Alumni, Clinton Police, Clinton Fire, and other knowledgeable and supportive groups and individuals.
